We're Moving to Substack!

Over the past year, Beyond the Blade has grown from a simple newsletter into a place where I've been able to share coaching ideas, sports science, and practical advice for historical combat athletes. As it continues to evolve, I've decided it's time to give it a new home.

Beginning next week, the newsletter will be moving from its current host (Beehiiv) to Substack and will become Sprezzatura Sport Performance.

Why the change?

Quite simply, I want a platform that's built around long-form content beyond just a newsletter. Substack makes it easier to publish podcasts, videos, and posts all together in one central location. It also is a much more established way to interact with readers and build a community - exactly what we need to continue to improve historical combat sports.

What isn't changing is the mission.

You'll still find evidence-based articles on:

  • Strength & conditioning for HEMA, SCA, bohurt, and historical combat sports

  • Injury prevention and longevity

  • Sports science explained in practical terms

  • Coaching insights

  • Training ideas you can actually use

If anything, you'll probably see more articles, more discussion, and a wider variety of topics.
